Mzila Mthenjane

Mzila Mthenjane, a graduate of Wits School of Mining Engineering (1992), brings over 18 years of expertise in mining and investment banking.

He has held leadership roles at AngloGold Ashanti, Gold Fields, RBH, and Deutsche Bank, and joined Exxaro Resources in 2013 as Executive Head: Strategy and Corporate Affairs. Mthenjane’s board roles include Merafe Resources and Fraser Alexander, and he chairs the Wits University Mining Engineers Association.

With a focus on sustainable development, Mthenjane has a proven record in stakeholder engagement, climate strategy, and African business growth, while actively supporting mentorship and professional development in the mining sector.
